Hello and thank you for feedback Spartacus
You must be referring to the OnionOS review post, notice that there are two .onion links there, one marked as a link to masked.name and another marked as a link to OnionOS.
The last time I checked, when I wrote that post nearly a year ago, the links were correct, maybe the page has changed since then, the author of OnionOS, nicknamed "jamon", is the same persorn behind masked.name I believe.

The .onion link you posted is a link to masked.name, not to OnionOS.

It's not what I was initially looking for, but it was worth finding.

Thank you for those links...
It is impossible for me to find out if Indymedia does log IPs or they do not. The bottom line here is that you never trust a third party, and here is why:
Mi5 may infiltrate Indymedia staff and install some logging script on the server with not even Indy knowing or they may sneak into the datacenter where the server is and install something there, Mi5 money and resources surpass by far those of a small volunteer group.
Any time you post controversial speech to an internet forum you must think of that forum as compromised, including this blog. I do not own the server, if Mi5 wants to go to the datacenter and get your IP they surely can.
In privacy, you must never trust third parties, they will claim they do not log or spy on you, but EVEN if they don't, that third party can be infiltrated or have some security hole that can be exploited by someone else.
If you want to post anonymous to a forum use the Incognito live CD:

http://anonymityanywhere.com/incognito/
By using a live CD you will leave zero tracks in your computer and if it ever gets stolen and taken to a computer forensics laboratory they will not be able to get anything.
Incognito also uses tor for web browsing and has Truecrypt.
The great thing of tor is that it uses a chain of proxies at random, the voyeur agencies would need to compromise all of them in order to find out anyone's IP, to the best of my knowledge there has never been anyone posting controversial speech through tor who has been identified.
You can also use OnionOS, which works in a similar fashion as Incognito does, I have reviewed OnionOS here:
http://www.privacylover.com/anonymous-internet-surfing/onionos-your-anonymous-livecd-operating-system/
Do not trust Indymedia or any other internet forum not to log your IP, always use an anonymous proxy for posting, better be safe than sorry, that is my advice.
The big voyeur agencies have huge resources at their disposal, but they are not unlimited, the more expensive and time consuming you make for them to track you down, the easier it is they will have to give up on you.
